Growing up on Long Island, New York, she moved to South Carolina and has made Columbia her home since 2012. Ms. Gallert completed a Bachelor’s degree in Middle Level Education for English/Language Arts and Social Studies, along with a minor in Political Science from the University of South Carolina. She is also Gifted and Talented endorsed and currently working on her M.Ed. in Divergent Learning at Columbia College. In her spare time, Ms. Gallert enjoys traveling, playing tennis, practicing hot yoga and coaching MGM’s Girls On The Run team! agallert@lexington1.net

 

 

JannaPeterson-e1342088023517Janna Petersen – Ms. Petersen has taught in Nashville, TN and Fort Collins, Co and is thankful to have the opportunity to now be included in the Lexington School District One for the past seven years. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Baylor University and a Master’s degree in Linguistically Diverse Learners from University of Northern Colorado. She is excited to have the privilege of teaching seventh graders at Meadow Glen Middle School and can hardly wait to inspire and be inspired by students this year.  In her free time she loves traveling and spending time with her dog, Bigsby.

Mindy Matthews – Mrs. Matthews is so excited to join the Meadow Glen Middle School family as a 7th grade ELA teacher. She is originally from Parkersburg, West Virginia and graduated from West Virginia University with her Master’s degree in Secondary English Education. She has previously taught in both West Virginia and North Carolina schools. Her family moved to Lexington when her husband took a job in the Lexington One School District and she has been a stay at home mom the last four year raising their two children. Now that her daughter is ready to start 4K this school year, she is ready to head back to the classroom and get back to her love and passion of teaching. She is looking forward to an amazing year as a Gator.

 

MATH

She earned her Masters degree in Educational Leadership and her Bachelors degree in Elementary Education from Central Michigan University. Mrs. Burnett was a scholarship athlete, starting four years at Pitcher/1st base for the softball team at CMU. She was born and raised in Michigan, however moved to South Carolina to pursue her love for teaching in August 2011. Allee Mathis – I’m Allee Mathis and I am extremely excited to be starting her first year here at Meadow Glen! I have my Bachelors of Science in Secondary Mathematics Education from Anderson University. I am a native of Aiken, SC and moved here with my husband for his job at Lexington Baptist Church as the middle school director. We got married in June and have spent the summer going on adventures with the students of LBC around the state and out of the country. I was previously at T.L. Hanna High School teaching ninth grade. In my free time, I enjoy Netflix, musical theatre, dance, movies, and spending time with friends. Ashley Seats – My name is Ashley Seats and this will be my 11th year in education.  This is my first year at MGM and I am very excited about being a gator. I have taught in Lexington District Two the past 10 years. I have my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Winthrop University and my Master’s in Administration from the University of South Carolina. I added on my middle level certification in mathematics and I am highly qualified in math. I also have the  gifted and talented endorsement. My husband’s name is Brett and we have 2 daughters. Lilly is 4 years old and will be attending Pleasant Hill Elementary and Annabeth is almost one year old. We have a miniature dachshund named Cammi. I enjoy spending time with my family/friends, shopping, reading, watching Gamecock sports, and going to church. I look forward to a great year at MGM! Tracey West – I am a graduate of Newberry College with a degree in English and a certification in Elementary Education.  I also have a Masters of Education Degree in Divergent Learning from Columbia College.  I am highly qualified in mathematics and have a middle school math certification as well as an endorsement in gifted and talented students.  This will be my 27th year teaching middle school children.  I reside in Lexington with my husband and our youngest son.  Our daughter is a graduate of Clemson University and will finish a degree in nursing this fall.  Our 1st son is a junior at Anderson University.  Our 11 year old  son is in the 6th grade here at MGM.  In my few moments of spare time, I enjoy reading, walking, and spending time with my family.  twest@Lexington1.net

 

 

 

SOCIAL STUDIES

MilesRyan Miles – My name is Ryan Miles and I will be teaching Seventh grade Social Studies in the 2017-2018 school year.  I love historical events, but even more so, exploring the relationships between people and places.  I have been at Meadow Glen Middle since 2012 teaching Social Studies.  I have a wife, Miranda, and a son Noah and will be welcoming a new child in February 2018.  I earned a B.A. in History from the University of South Carolina.  I love sports, outdoor activities, reading, being a great dad and husband, participating in church activities and spending time around water.  I look forward to a great year!

 

 

courtney Courtney Garrison- Courtney Garrison is very excited for another great school year at MGM! Courtney is a Lexington native that grew up through Lexington District One. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Winthrop University, maintains “highly qualified” status, and has a Master’s degree in Educational Technology. She is also currently working on her National Board Certification. This will be her 8th year teaching in Lexington One. In addition to being a devoted Clemson football fan, Courtney loves to act, dance, kayak, and rock climb. She also loves beach trips with family and friends. She uses technology every chance she gets, and is quite the movie buff. Screen Shot 2016-09-06 at 7.32.02 AMSarah Huey-Clowney – My name is Sarah Huey-Clowney, and the 2016-17 school year is my eleventh year in the middle school social studies classroom.  I received my Bachelors of Arts degree in History with a minor in secondary education from Winthrop University.  I have two Masters Degrees – the first from Columbia College in Divergent Learning, and the second from Liberty University in Educational Leadership.  This is my second year at MGMS and my second year in Lexington, SC.  I enjoy watching sports of ALL types with my husband and two sons, traveling, cooking, and spending time with my family.

quintonJessica Quinton– Ms. Quinton has been a 7th grade science teacher in Lexington District One for 6 years and has 12 years of teaching experience. She has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biology from the University of South Carolina and a Master’s of Arts in Teaching also from USC. 20160507_154750_HDRSara Loper – Mrs. Loper is very excited about the upcoming year at MGM! Mrs. Loper grew up in Ohio and moved to South Carolina after she graduated college. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Middle Childhood Education from Bowling Green State University and her Masters of Education in Integrating Technology in the Classroom from Walden University. She will be teaching 7th grade science and it will be her 10th year teaching. Mrs. Carraway grew up in Lugoff, SC but moved to Irmo after graduating from college. She earned a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Elementary Education from the University of South Carolina in 2015. Mrs. Carraway is certified and highly qualified in Elementary Education and Middle Level Science. This is her third year teaching and her second year at Meadow Glen Middle School. This year she is teaching seventh grade science. Mrs. Carraway enjoys spending time with her husband, Justin, and their two pets, Caesar and Keanu.
