Jennifer_HamiltonJennifer Hamilton – Ms. Hamilton is an avid Gamecock, having earned her teaching degree from the University of South Carolina.  Prior to teaching in South Carolina, Ms. Hamilton taught in Cobb County, Georgia.  She is a former Teacher of the Year, Teacher of the Quarter, and Teacher of the Month.  Ms. Hamilton has served as English Department Chair, Team Leader, Eighth Grade Liaison, and as a teacher representative on the School Improvement Council.  She has a Teacher Support Specialist Endorsement, is AVID and CRISS certified, and is certified by the SC Department of Education as a teacher evaluator. Ms. Hamilton holds a Middle Level English certification and a Gifted and Talented endorsement.  Her daughter Jill and her family live in Lexington, and her daughter Molly and her family live in Carrollton, Georgia.  Ms. Hamilton is an avid reader and loves spending time with her daughters and their families. montTrudie Montgomery – Mrs. Montgomery is excited for school the school year to begin. She is returning to the 8th grade House this year and beginning her 4th year of teaching at Meadow Glen Middle School. She attended the University of South Carolina, where she completed a Bachelor’s degree in Middle Level Education for English/Language Arts and Social Studies, she is also Gifted and Talented endorsed. Math

JodyBritt

Jody Britt – Mrs. Jody Britt is excited to be a part of the Meadow Glen Middle family! She is an 8th grade math teacher with 18 years’ experience in middle and high school and she serves as the head of the Math Department for Meadow Glen.   She earned her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of South Carolina where she was also a Gamecock cheerleader. She also earned a Masters in the Arts of Teaching from USC and is National Board Certified in Early Adolescent Mathematics. Jody is married to her best friend Jake and together they have three beautiful children: Jacob, Allie, and Jonah. Jen Cook Mrs. Cook is excited about starting this school year,  and considers it an honor to teach at Meadow Glen. She is committed to helping students meet their goals and to creating a positive learning environment where every student has the opportunity to learn. She is originally from North Carolina, where she graduated from East Carolina University in 2002. Go Pirates! Her and her husband moved to SC when they married in 2003, and have 2 children. Micah is a 3rd grader at Irmo Elementary, and Piper is in her last year of preschool. This is her first year at Meadow Glen, but has been teaching middle school math & science for the past 15 years (1 year in NC, 4 years at Sandhills Intermediate in Lexington 4, and 10 years at Irmo Middle in Lex/Rich 5). She was named teacher of the year at Irmo Middle in 2015. During her time at Irmo Middle, she served as a team leader and instructional guide for teachers. She deeply believes in what teaching and learning looks like at EL Education schools, and can’t wait to begin her journey at Meadow Glen Middle. Go Gators!

 

 

Katie Smith – Mrs. Smith is excited to be teaching 8th grade Pre-Algebra and Algebra 1 at Meadow Glen Middle this year.  She is originally from Sumter, SC and was a student of Dr. Coon’s in high school.   She graduated from Converse College with a Bachelor of Arts degree and USC with a Masters of Education.   She earned her National Board Certification in 2007 and renewed her National Board Certification in 2016.   Her husband is a teacher and coach at River Bluff High School, and their two sons attend Midway Elementary.  She has been teaching math at the middle school and high school level for the past twenty years.   She believes in creating a positive learning environment where all students can be successful.  Go Gators!

 

 

 

History 

Michael Moore – Mr. Moore has been a teacher for twenty-three years with the past eight years in Lexington 1.  He completed his undergraduate work at the University of South Carolina and earned his Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Scranton.  His interests include spending time with his wife traveling and hiking.  He also is a techie, loves James Bond movies and Snoopy, and enjoys playing golf.  Mr. Moore is excited about another fantastic year at Meadow Glen Middle School! MHMoore@Lexington1.net, 821-0656

 

dornekerJanet Dorneker – I am a native South Carolinian who grew up in Greenville, South Carolina.  I received my BA at Furman University.  I attended the University of Sydney in Australia and obtained my Masters in Education with a Literature, Literacy, and Drama focus.  I began working on my second masters degree at Furman University in Middle Level Social Studies.  I taught 8th grade English Language Arts in both Greenville and Pickens County.   I have worked with the National Middle Association on teaming in the Middle School.  I worked on several committees to integrate social studies and ELA curriculums.  I began teaching at MGM in 2013.  I am currently teaching 8th grade English. My husband, Jerry, and I moved to Lexington in 2005 when he  began a new job.  Our daughter was born in 2007 and attends MGES.  My husband and I both love sports and travel.  I coached volleyball at Lexington Middle and now coach for Intense Volleyball, a juniors volleyball club in the Lexington area.  We are huge Cleveland Browns fans and spend Sunday watching the NFL.  I have traveled to Europe, Russia, Mexico, and Australia.  I love to share my experiences with my students and encourage their love of travel.  I am an avid reader and enjoy talking with students about the books they read. Korin Rogerson –
Mrs. Rogerson is very excited to be back at MGM this year! She grew up in Columbia, SC and went to Clemson University’s Calhoun Honors College for her Bachelors Degree in History. She also earned a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of South Carolina and has previously taught at Lexington Middle and Meadow Glen Middle. Mrs. Rogerson is a huge sports fan, especially of the Clemson Tigers, Oregon Ducks, professional tennis, and scuba diving. She also loves all types of music, TV and film, and her 3 rescue animals (2 cats named Yogi and Booboo and dog named Sadie). Science

Ashley Holmes– My name is Ashley Holmes and I am so excited to join the MGMS and Lexington One family as an eighth grade science teacher.  I have fourteen years of teaching experience, with the last six years in Beaufort County.  I graduated from Furman University with a B.A. in Music and Education.  I hold a Masters Degree in Divergent Learning from Columbia College and I am currently a doctoral student at The University of South Carolina pursuing an Ed.D in Curriculum and Instruction.  I am also Nationally Board Certified in the area of Early Adolescence Science.  In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and cheering on the Furman Paladins and the South Carolina Gamecocks.  I look forward to a fantastic year of teaching and learning. Paul Duggan – 
Welcome to the eighth-grade! I am looking forward to another great year at Meadow Glen. Mr. Duggan currently has 19 years of teaching experience. He received a Masters of Science Degree in Science Curriculum from the University of South Carolina and a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Science Teaching and Learning at the University of South Carolina.  Mr. Duggan is the current teacher of the year for Meadow Glen Middle school. Kay Dyar – Kay Dyar will be teaching 8th grade Science this year. This is her 28th year teaching. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Lander College in 1988 and her Master’s degree in Guidance and Counseling services from Clemson University in 1993. She believes that teaching science is the best subject to teach! She love animals. She has two wonderful Chihuahuas, Buffett and Skipper. She also have 2 reptiles, Luigi (Bearded Dragon) and Dabo (Eastern Box Turtle).
