Ann Bennett (Resource) – Ms. Bennett enjoys teaching at Meadow Glen Middle School. She has a Master’s Degree in Education from Columbia College and a Bachelor of Science in Learning Disabilities from Winthrop College. Ms. Bennett enjoys watching many sports, especially the Atlanta Braves, Carolina Panthers, USC Gamecocks, and River Bluff and Meadow Glen Gators. Teaching students with disabilities is a passion and a calling for Ms. Bennett.

BioSusan Myrick – Mrs. Myrick is excited to begin her 4th year at Meadow Glen.  She is a graduate of College of Charleston with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and teaching children with Learning Disabilities. Mrs. Myrick is married with 3 children.  In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, exercising, and watching her children in their various sporting activities. smyrick@lexington1.net

 

 

Jennifer Williams – Mrs. Williams is excited to be joining the MGM faculty this year as a Special Services teacher.  She is a graduate of Indiana University with a bachelor’s degree in Special Education.  She is certified in Special Education/Learning Disabilities and Elementary Education.  Mrs. Williams is married and has three children, the oldest beginning his freshman year at Virginia Tech and the youngest entering kindergarten.  She enjoys reading, spending time at the beach, and being crafty.  jbwilliams@lexington1.net

 

 

Jennifer GrantMrs. Grant is a Special Services teacher at MGM. She received both her B.S.Ed. and M.B.A. from Northern Illinois University. This is her 11th year in the classroom and she cannot think of a career she would love more. Mrs. Grant is married with 3 children, who all attend Lexington One schools. Lyuda Hutchenson (ESOL) – I am from Russia and received my master’s degree in teaching English as a foreign language in Ukraine. I have been teaching ESOL in Lexington 1 since 2002 and have been in MGMS for 6 years, from the day this school was opened.  I hold a National Board certificate in teaching English as a new language. I am also working on my second degree in Literacy.

I have two children and raise them bilingual.  We speak both languages, English and Russian, at home. I am closely connected to Russian speaking community in Columbia-Lexington area. A few years ago I started Russian Puppetry/Drama Club for Russian speaking children.  Our club produces two shows in Russian a year. I also enjoy traveling, reading and jewelry making.

 

Carla Thauberger (ESOL) – Carla Thauberger has been teaching ESOL for over 17 years. She was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada and attended the University of Regina. She holds a Bachelor of Education Degree in Secondary English and French and a Master of Education Degree with a focus on Second Language Acquisition. While living in Canada, she served on the board of TESL Saskatchewan in many roles, including Vice President. She is currently on the Board of Carolina TESOL as Publications Editor.
   Before moving the United States, Mrs. Thauberger taught overseas in Japan for 4 years, and for 6 years at her Alma Mater, the University of Regina, in their ESL program for international students. After taking time off to raise her children, she re-entered the profession here in the United States with Lexington School District 1 in 2012, where she has remained until today. When she is not teaching, she can be found working at her family business with her husband.  She is a proud mom to two daughters who happen to both be MGM Gators.  Go Gators!

 

 

image (1)Trisha Hamilton (RTI Math) – Miss Hamilton is happy to be spending her seventh year as an MGM Gator! After moving to South Carolina from Ohio this is her eighth year teaching in Lexington 1 schools. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and a Post-Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education focusing on Mathematics and Science from Eastern Michigan University.  She graduated from Columbia College in May 2014 with her Master’s degree in Divergent Learning.  She enjoys University of Michigan Football, working out, lifting weights and being artistically creative.  She considers her time the most well spent when she is spending it with family, friends and her friendly pit bull, Arbor.  THamilton@Lexington1.net821-0665

 

 

Rayna

Rayna Kleckley (RTI ELA) – Mrs. Kleckley has enjoyed working with the Gators at MGMS since the school opened.  She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education with minors in English and History from Columbia College, and this is her 18th year teaching middle school.  She has a Gifted Endorsement and is certified in Middle Level Language Arts and Middle School Social Studies. Mrs. Kleckley is married and has 2 daughters, a son and a son-in-law. melbaMelba Acey (Speech and Language) – Mrs. Acey is an Speech-Language Pathologist certified by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) who loves being a part of the Meadow Glen Middle School Family! Mrs. Acey will be sharing her time with other Lexington One locations.  She received her Bachelor of Arts in Spanish (2002) and Masters in Speech Pathology (2004) from the University of South Carolina.  She is married with one child and enjoys photography, reading, watching movies, sewing, and spending time with family and friends.   Macey@lexington1.net  or 821-0671.
