Jessica Kohout-Tailor – School Librarian

Ms. Kohout-Tailor is very excited to join the Meadow Glen Middle family!  She is a graduate of Wofford College and has her Master of Library and Information Science from the University of South Carolina.  She has experience in research, teaching, literacy outreach, special libraries, and has been an English teacher in China before becoming a Media Specialist.  Ms. Kohout-Tailor is passionate about working with young people to help them think critically, discover new information about themselves and the world around them, and wants to inspire them to become lifelong learners and readers.  She is looking forward to working with students, faculty, staff, parents, and the community to help students become successful in the 21st century. Mrs. Dent has eighteen years of teaching experience and has been a Technology Integration Specialist in Lexington One for 10 years.  She holds a Bachelors of Music degree from Winthrop University and a Masters of Technology in Education from Lesley University.  She has been on the SC Leadership Council for the Discovery Educator Network for 8 years and has been selected to attend 6 different Discovery Leadership Summer Institutes where she had the opportunity to learn and collaborate with educational technology leaders such as Kathy Schrock, Michael Wesch, and Alan November. Collaboration is what she does best. She works with students, teachers, and parents to blend innovative, digital tools into the classroom and provides assistance to 24/7 learning platforms.
