9th Grade Registration

Your 8th grader is beginning to embark on some exciting high school transition events and activities. The first is RBHS 9th Grade Course Selection Night on January 13th or 14th where students will select their courses for 9th grade.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • Students and parents are invited to River Bluff High School on either January 13th or 14th. River Bluff will be hosting a Freshman Course Fair and Course Selection Night for parents and students. From 5:30-6:30 teachers from River Bluff will be available to speak with students and parents about courses. They will be able to answer any questions you may have around content or levels. From 6:30-7:00 students will select their courses in their buckets on PowerSchool. You may attend either night. 

Here is what you need to have for course selections at RBHS:

  1. Student charged Chromebook
  2. Student username and password for PowerSchool
  3. Course Selection Sheet
  4. Teacher recommendation sheet
  5. Your student!

Important Information:

  • On January 8th, River Bluff counselors will come to MGM to speak with all 8th grade students about the 9th grade Course Selection Sheet during CREW
  • 8th grade students will receive a paper copy of their teacher core course recommendations during CREW on January 8th. Please review your student’s teacher recommendation sheet with your student at home. If you have any questions regarding teacher recommendations, please contact your student’s teacher. 
  • 8th grade teachers will be contacting you and talking with your student about any change in course level recommendations for 9th grade.
  • Teacher course recommendations are a guideline to help parents and students make informed decisions regarding 9th grade course options, parents and students make their final course choices.
