Cameron Johns
Hello! I'm Cameron Johns, and I’m excited to share a little bit about my life with you. This year marks my 24th year of teaching, a journey that began after I graduated from Clemson University. I have deep roots in Greenville, South Carolina, where I grew up. Most of my family still lives in the upstate. My husband is from Jacksonville, Florida, and we met at Clemson. After living in a couple of other areas, we relocated to Lexington 17 years ago, where we’ve built our life and family. Family time is incredibly important to me, and the weekends are built around that. I’m a proud mom of two amazing kids. My son, Cooper, is a rising junior at The Citadel, where he plays running back for the Bulldogs, which is always thrilling to watch. My daughter, Parker, is a rising sixth grader at Meadow Glen Middle School. Fall is hands down my favorite season. I love everything about it: the excitement of college football, pumpkin spice everything, and the stunning colors as the leaves change. On Saturdays during the fall, you can find me either in Charleston cheering on the Citadel Bulldogs or in Clemson supporting my Tigers. When I need to relax and recharge, my happy place is the beach. My in-laws live on Vilano Beach in Florida, and that’s a place where I feel the most at peace. I enjoy getting lost in a good book, especially murder mysteries, going to the gym, and shopping. My all-time favorite novel, The Great Gatsby, is my favorite novel. Studying it in high school was probably what helped make me want to teach English. I’m looking forward to a fantastic school year. GO GATORS!
