Melody Shafer

Mrs. Melody Shafer is the iCivics teacher at MGMS. She is a graduate of Ball State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior/Environmental Design. She obtained teacher certification through Indiana Wesleyan University and has a Master of Science in Education from Walden University. She enjoys infusing iCivics with opportunities for students to live and learn the qualities of good citizenship.

Mrs. Shafer loves spending time with her family and friends. She especially enjoys spending empty nesting time with her husband Todd, visiting her oldest son in the Washington, D.C. area where he works as a FAA controller, supporting her newlywed daughter as she continues her education in P.A. school, and providing lots of love and food to her youngest who is starting his senior year in a nursing program while running 80-100 miles weeks! Children are a blessing and she will take care of your children like she does her own! Her favorite activities include piano, reading, mountain biking, enjoying friends, family and the great outdoors!
