Lyuda Hutchenson

I am from Russia and received my master’s degree in teaching English as a foreign language in Ukraine. I have been teaching ESOL in Lexington 1 since 2002 and have been in MGMS for 6 years, from the day this school was opened.  I hold a National Board certificate in teaching English as a new language. I am also working on my second degree in Literacy.

I have two children and raise them bilingual.  We speak both languages, English and Russian, at home. I am closely connected to Russian speaking community in Columbia-Lexington area. A few years ago I started Russian Puppetry/Drama Club for Russian speaking children.  Our club produces two shows in Russian a year. I also enjoy traveling, reading and jewelry making.
